Favorite Book Read In Middle School

I think the best book I have read in my three years of middle school has been "The Giver". This book was written by Louis Lowry and it is about a boy named Jonas who was born and raised in a so called "perfect" society. This was a place full of people without feelings, no color, nothing. Except for one person "The Giver." This is a person that has a special gift, he can see color, has feelings and keeps ALL of the memories. Jonas who is the main character has this gift, so in a ceremony he is named the receiver, who in the future will be the giver. So once he is chosen he is to meet whith the giver everyday, instead of being given a job like everyone else... Memories are passed on to Jonas, and he feels pain, sadness, happiness. He is disapointed with his dad once he knows that he as a nurse kills a twin. So in the end Jonas is sick of his utopia and decides to run away with a little boy named Gabriel, who was kept in his home because he wasnt capable of talking yet. And at his age is put to sleep when incapable of doing those kind of things.

I liked this book because of the message it gave me. This book told me that there is no such thing as a utopia, or perfect world. I also liked this book because it is very exiting to read, you cant get enough of it.

idk y but that book sounds familiar... lol. i think it is a very good book, lacks action and adventure but it is a very good book.

ps: why do a lot of ppl write that the giver is the best???
